May 1 - Depart and travel to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  This thin strip of barrier islands is 200 miles long and juts out into the Gulf Stream of the Atlantic Ocean, bringing temperate climates and sea life to the region.  Arrive in the afternoon in Duck, NC at the Sanderling Resort where you will check in and have some time to acquaint yourself with the property.  Dinner has been arranged at the resort this evening.

May 2 - After breakfast, depart for nearby Corolla for a Corolla Wild Horse Tour.  You will board an off-road vehicle and traverse the beaches in search of Banker horses (for Outer Banks).  With an ancestry tracing back to the very first days of European exploration in North America, the legendary Corolla wild horses still roam the area as they have for hundreds of years.  The elemental forces that sculpted these islands are the same forces that have created a breed of horse unlike any other in the world.  Return to the resort in the afternoon and the remainder of the day is yours to enjoy its amenities along with the beach.

May 3 - Enjoy breakfast, then depart for a visit to the Wright Brothers National Memorial.  The Visitors Center has a full-scale replica of the origianl plane, as well as exhibits dealing with the Outer Banks at the turn-of-the-century, the evolution of aviation, the challenges of flight and NASA-sponsored exhibits.  In the afternoon, depart for Manteo and Elizabethan Gardens where hitsory, mystery and fantasy are combined.  The gardens are a memorial to the first English colonists and Queen Elizabeth I.  Afterwards, proceed to nearby Roanoke Adventure Museum, an American Indian Town, the Legend of Two Path and more.  Dinner has been arranged at a restaurant in the area before returning to the resort.

May 4 - Following breakfast, check out and depart for home with lasting memories of Sanderling Resort & the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
