May 21 - Depart in early morning and travel westward to your first night's lodging in the Toledo, Ohio area.  Check into your room and prepare for dinner, which is on your own at a local restaurant.

May 22 - Following breakfast, check out and head north through Michigan, stopping in Indian River to visit the "Cross in the Woods", one of Michigan's best known and loved monuments.  See the largest wooden and bronze crucifix in the world, view over 500 dolls in the largest religious doll museum in the world, and spend a little time in the gift shop.  Continue to your lodging this evening at the Best Western Harbour Pointe in St. Ignace, Michigan.  Check into your rooms and prepare for dinner, which is included at a local restaurant.

May 23 - After Breakfast, check out and head north to the town of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.  Board the Soo Locks cruise boat and enjoy a Two-hour, narrated tour through the locks on the St. Mary's River.  Lunch is on your own in the town, then head west to Whitefish Point, home to the fascinating Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum.  View the exhibits in the museum gallery, where shipwreck legends come to life.  See the lighthouse keeper's quarters, and step inside the Shipwreck Theater to view a short documentary that details the loss of the Edmund Fitzgerald.  You may even bravely dip your toes into frigid Lake Superior!  After your visit, return to St. Ignace to meet the ferry, which transports you across the Straits to Mackinac Island.  Upon arrival a horse-drawn taxi will take you up the hill to the Grand Hotel for check in, followed by a delectable dinner at the hotel.  The evening is free to explore the hotel and grounds at your leisure.

May 24 - Arise to a delicious Breakfast at the Grand, followed by time to walk through the magnificent gardens.  View the straits from a rocking chair on the expansive porch, or from the Observation Tower.  Board a horse-drawn carriage and clippity-clop through breathtaking forests and floral vistas to view the sparkling water from the Arch Rock overlook.  Explore the village on your won this afternoon, and taste your favorite fudge in one of the many shops that line the harbor area.  Another sumptuous dinner awaits you this evening at the hotel.

May 25 - Breakfast at the Grand, then check out and return by ferry to the mainland to meet your bus.  Depart across the Mackinac Bridge into the lower peninsula, and continue south to your lodging for the night in the Toledo, Ohio area.  Dinner is again on your own the evening.

May 26 - Following breakfast, check out and depart for home - taking with you lasting memories of your vacation to Michigan's Upper Peninsula and lovely Mackinac Island.
