Day 1: September 14, 2017: Depart the USA: Depart the USA for your flight to London.
Day 2 – September 15, 2017: Welcome to London! After arrival at London Heathrow, you will be met by your local host, Jane Tizard, who will assist you throughout your stay. Be transferred to your London hotel, the wonderfully located Corpthorne Tara, a contemporary four-star hotel in elegant Kensington. The rest of the afternoon can be enjoyed at leisure or you may join Jane for an orientation tour to explore the prestigious neighborhood (Kate and William live nearby) around your hotel. Enjoy a Welcome Dinner with drinks at the hotel or nearby. Overnight: London (Dinner)
Day 3 – September 16, 2017: full day London tour Daily breakfast at the hotel is included. This morning, we enjoy a panoramic tour of London by coach with several photo stops at the most famous sights of London. We continue with a walking tour of Theatre land and bustling Convent Garden with a traditional Pub lunch along the way. In the afternoon, we visit the Royal Albert Hall, one of the UK's most treasured and distinctive buildings, for a Behind the Scene tour, with access to parts of the Hall usually off limits to the public to see where talent and technical teams come together to stage over 390 different events a year. In the evening, we enjoy a three course pre-set menu dinner and performance at the legendary National Theatre with round trip transfers (Show TBA). Overnight in London. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 4 – September 17, 2017: Shakespeare Globe Theatre visit and performance After breakfast at the hotel, we take a morning guided tour of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre for an unparalleled glimpse into the theatrical craft, culture and community that thrived during Shakespeare's day. Located on the south bank of the River Thames, this faithful recreation of a popular 1599 Elizabethan playhouse also offers the world's largest exhibition dedicated to the Bard replete with live demonstrations and interactive displays to bring Shakespeare's world to life. There is free time for lunch before an afternoon performance of a Shakespeare intense, dramatic, and timeless play at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, a candlelit indoor Jacobean-style theatre located on the Globe complex site. There is a coach transfer back to your hotel after the performance. Overnight in London. (Breakfast)
Day 5 – September 18, 2017: Optional tour to Windsor Castle ($95 per person) After breakfast at the hotel, you can choose to depart with your local guide to Windsor Castle, the largest working castle in the world that is still occupied by a monarch. For over 900 years, since William the Conqueror built a wooden fortress here, this has been a royal home and fortress. Queen Elizabeth spends a month here at Easter, a week in June and most weekends at Windsor where she often hosts state dinners for international dignitaries and entertains those she has knighted into the Order of the Garter. Despite its daily use for royal business, much of the palace is open to the public including the State Apartments which feature fine works of art from the Royal Collection including paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens and Canaletto, St. George's Chapel, Queen Mary's dolls' house (the largest and most beautiful in the world) and George VI's private apartments. Return to the hotel. Lunch and rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in London. (Breakfast)
Day 6 – September 19, 2017: Free day in London Breakfast at the hotel and full day at leisure in London. In the evening, there is a farewell dinner at the hotel or nearby including drinks, and another theater performance TBA. Overnight in London. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 7 – September 20, 2017: Departure day Today we transfer to the airport filled with wonderful memories of a rich, full trip to London.
