April 19 – Depart the US from Dulles International Airport at 10.05pm approx.   An evening meal will be served shortly after take off.

 April 20 – Arrive info Dublin Airport at 10.05am approx.  After collecting our luggage and clearing customs, our driver/guide, will escort us to the motor coach.  Drive south to Kilkenny.   The remainder of the afternoon will be free to relax or explore this lovely historic city on our own.  Overnight Hibernian Hotel, Kilkenny (B, D)

 April 21 – After a leisurely breakfast we will visit the Nicholas Moss Pottery Center.  Learn about the history of the Mill and watch the potters at work.   Time to explore and do a little shopping.  Maybe enjoy a morning coffee in the lovely café overlooking the River Nore.  Next a visit to the Smithwicks Distillery.  This new multi-sensory experience will take us on a journey through the medieval origins of brewing on the site of the St. Francis Abbey Brewery to the arrival of John Smithwick in the 1700’s, and right up to the present day. We will learn about the history and amazing heritage of the Smithwick’s family and its place in Kilkenny, a city steeped in history and brewing. Overnight Hibernian Hotel, Kilkenny (B, D)

 April 22 – This morning we will travel south into County Cork to the coastal town of Cobh. Stop on route for a photo op at the Rock of Cashel.  Next up a visit the Midleton Distillery for a guided tour of the old distillery, mills and maltings and the largest pot still in the world.  Take advantage of the opportunity to taste some of Ireland’s most famous export.  Continue on to Cobh where we will say for the next two nights.  There will be time this afternoon to explore the narrow streets, shops and traditional pubs.  Overnight Commodore Hotel, Cobh (B, D)

 April 23 –  After breakfast we will enjoy the The Titanic Trail, a fascinating guided walking tour of Cobh which was the last port of call of RMS Titanic. It will take us through the historic town of Cobh where the buildings, streets and piers have not changed since the Titanic’s sinking over 100 years ago.  From 1848 - 1950 over 6 million adults and children emigrated from Ireland - over 2.5 million departed from Cobh, making it the single most important port of emigration.  The remainder of the day is free to enjoy this lovely town. Overnight Commodore Hotel, Cobh (B, D)

 April 24 – Today we will travel west to the lovely town of Killarney.  Stop in Blarney in County Cork where those energetic enough will have an opportunity to climb the 104 steps to kiss the stone located in the battlements and gain “the gift of the gab.” We will also have time for some shopping in the Blarney Woolen Mills and maybe some lunch in the restaurant or pub on the castle grounds.  Arrive in Killarney in the late afternoon and check into your hotel.  April 25 – Today travel along the Dingle Peninsula to relish stunning views of the Slieve Mish Mountains, the shoreline of Dingle Bay and the open Atlantic Ocean. At the tip of the Peninsula, near Slea Head, Ireland’s most Western point we will be able to see the Basket Islands offshore. Visit the Blasket Center to learn more about how life was on the islands in times gone by.  Stop in Dingle town for some free time to stroll around the quaint town.  Enjoying an Irish Coffee in a cozy pub before returning to Killarney.  April 26 – This morning travel through the Burren, a unique landscape of bedrock incorporating a vast cracked pavement of glacial-era limestone. Stop at the Cliffs of Moher which rise 700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean. Walk to the cliff edge and breathe in the fresh Irish air while taking in the spectacular views of the ocean.

Arrive in Galway City.  After checking in to your city center hotel, some time at leisure to explore on our own. Maybe visit the Galway Museum located beside the Spanish Arch overlooking the Claddagh or wander through the cobblestone streets near Quay and Cross St at the end of town.  Some lovely café and pubs to enjoy a beverage before dinner.  April 27 – Today enjoy a visit to Connemara History & Heritage Center.  The Center offers a unique insight into the history and heritage of this beautiful part of the West of Ireland. See how turf (peat) is cut and sample a drop of ‘poitín’. The drive continues through the magnificent Connemara Peninsula and the stunning views of boglands and misty mountains.  Return to Galway via Moycullen with a stop at the Connemara Marble Factory.   Overnight Hardiman Hotel, Galway (B, D)

April 28 – On arrival enjoy a city tour featuring elegant Georgian squares and houses, buildings of historical importance including The Bank of Ireland and Dublin Castle as well as the statue of Molly Malone on Grafton Street.   This afternoon explore this fascinating city on foot.  Perhaps a visit to Trinity College one of the oldest centers of learning, dating to the 16th century and home to the ‘Book of Kells’.  Or a stroll down Grafton Street with wonderful shopping. The city also has many fine museums and wonderful pubs. Dinner tonight on our own. Overnight The Green Hotel, Dublin (B)


April 29 - After breakfast depart our hotel for the Airport.  Depart on United Airlines at 12.55pm. We will pre-clear customs and emigration in Dublin which makes for a very smooth arrival into the US.  Arrive into Dulles International Airport at 4.05pm. Slán abhaile! – Safe home!  (B)
