Day 1 Depart the USA: Depart the USA on your overnight flight to Budapest, Hungary.

Day 2 Budapest, Hungary: Welcome to Budapest, one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Eastern Europe. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your Emerald Cruises Star-Ship where your captain and crew will be waiting to greet you. This evening, relax onboard as you watch an authentic Hungarian folklore show and indulge in a dinner of traditional cuisine. Meal: D

Day 3 Budapest: Budapest, a place of striking contrasts, straddles both sides of the mighty Danube.  Buda on one side, housing a scattering of the city’s elegant landmarks, and Pest on the other encapsulating Budapest’s fascinating past.  Today discover the city’s history during a guided tour, including the Castle District, where sights of Buda Castle perched on top of a rocky outcrop overlooking the city are certain to delight. If you are feeling active, you may instead choose to hike to Buda Hill, following a maze of cobblestone streets to the massive Baroque masterpiece towering overhead. Meals: B, L, D

Day 4 Bratislava, Slovakia: Bordering Austria and Hungary, the Slovakian capital is yours to discover today. During the walking tour, wander down cobblestone streets and witness the majestic architecture as you explore with a local guide, passing the Renaissance courtyard of the Old Town Hall and the picturesque gardens of the Episcopal Summer Palace. Afterwards, enjoy free time to explore at leisure.  This afternoon, you will be welcomed into the home of a local family to learn about their culture over traditional sweet treats and coffee. Day 5 Vienna, Austria: Discover Austria’s capital with a panoramic overview of the city followed by a walking tour.  See the magnificent Ringstrasse, Opera House, Burgtheater and the Parliament before enjoying time to explore at leisure.   Alternatively, embark on a guided cycling tour past idyllic riverbanks, monuments and lush parks before passing by Prater. Day 6 Dürnstein – Melk: Stroll through the charming town of Dürnstein on your own, or, if you’re feeling active, hike to the ruins of the castle where Richard the Lionheart was held captive. Back onboard, relax on the Sun Deck as you sail through the UNESCO World Heritage Wachau Valley to Melk, nestled in the heart of the Wachau wine region. In Melk, a local guide will take you on a tour of the spectacular 900-year-old Benedictine abbey including its ancient monastic library and medieval manuscripts. Alternatively, enjoy a guided bike ride from Dürnstein to Melk. Meals: B, L, D

Day 7 Passau, Germany: Cobblestone streets and graceful arcades welcome you to Passau.  On an included walking tour, stroll through the old town’s narrow alleys and see the Gothic Town Hall, Bishop’s Residence and St. Stephen’s Cathedral, a wonderful example of Baroque architecture and home to Europe’s largest pipe organ.  Return to the ship for an afternoon cruising through the heart of Europe. Day 8 Regensburg – Kelheim: After breakfast, explore one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Germany. Your local guide will lead you on a walking tour through the heart of Regensburg’s UNESCO World Heritage Old Town, pointing out architectural highlights along the way. Later, sail through the picturesque Main-Danube Canal, passing Kelheim as you make your way to Nuremberg. Meals:  B, L, D

Day 9 Nuremberg: The historic city of Nuremberg is explored during an included sightseeing tour, touching on the architectural wonders that have acted as an inspiration for famous artists from around the world. After the tour, enjoy free time to explore independently. Meals:  B, L, D

Day 10 Bamberg: This morning, the UNESCO World Heritage town of Bamberg awaits. On the included walking tour with your local guide, discover one of Europe’s largest intact medieval town centers.  Admire hundreds of building façades richly decorated in fascinating detail and spectacular ornamentation.  Marvel at the opulence of the New Residence, former home of the Prince Bishops, and enjoy a stroll through the rose garden.

Day 11 Würzburg: Set amongst sloping, vineyard-covered hills, Würzburg is known as the “Pearl of the Romantic Road”. On the included excursion, stroll through the town to view the gothic Marienkapelle and the Town Hall.  Visit the Würzburg Residence, one of Germany’s largest and most ornate baroque palaces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  See the palace’s unique staircase, elaborate 18th-century frescoes and the amazing 3D stucco work.  Alternatively, choose an optional excursion to Rothenburg. Day 12 Wertheim – Miltenberg: This morning, enjoy free time in Wertheim, a medieval town known for the art of glass-blowing. Travel by coach to the picturesque village of Miltenberg, a place that perfectly encapsulates traditional Bavarian life. Enjoy a guided tour of the village, as your navigate an intricate network of cobblestone streets, each adorned with colorful houses. Alternatively, join a guided walk to Mildenburg Castle, where a collection of artworks can be found inside a castle that was once little more than a set of ruins. Meals:  B, L, D

Day 13 Rüdesheim – Koblenz: Relax onboard while cruising to Rüdesheim, a town with a rich history of viticulture. Upon arrival, board the Winzerexpress to Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Cabinet Museum to see spectacular displays of rare music boxes. Alternatively, enjoy an active walk through vineyards to see what makes this wine region so popular.  After lunch, sail through the UNESCO World Heritage Rhine Gorge and pass the infamous Lorelei Rock.  Keep your camera ready to capture the stunning vistas of castles perched atop steep vine-covered slopes. Day 15 Amsterdam, the Netherlands: This morning, choose to enjoy a glass-top canal boat tour through Amsterdam’s UNESCO World Heritage canal network, OR, take a guided bike tour to Waterland. Enjoy the final afternoon at leisure. Meals:  B, L, D
